Ok:

I need to get a new bushing for our ammo master 2 press. The current bushing is too small to hold the .577 NE dies.

I checked RCBS' custom order catalogue and spoke with their customer service department, and the answer is not clear.

So I'm taping into the wealth of knowledge on AR for help.

Here are the options I have. Which one do I need to get:

1 1/4" - 18 to 1" - 14 or 7/8" - 14

1 1/4" - 12 to 1" - 14

1 3/8" - 12 to 1" - 14

1 1/2" - 12 to 1" - 14

I'm thinking the 1 1/2" - 12 to 1" - 14, but basing that on a pure guess.

Anyone give me some guidance?

rcbs should have been able to tell you the press thread size. just remove the bushing that's in there, measure those threads, then measure the threads on your dies. call CH4D and tell them the 2 sizes and they can send the correct one. i had to get one for my 500jeffery. i think there's are only $12-14 or so.

You can get the bushing from Huntington's. I had to get one for an RCBS Rockchucker for 585 Nyati dies. It's not in the catalog but if you call they can get them.

RCBS advertises that the AmmoMaster press is threaded 1½"-12 tpi. What are your dies? My .577-.450 RCBS dies are 1"-14 tpi.

I've done this. I just called, told them what round I wanted the bushing for, and they sent the right one.

Personally, however, I would recommend buying one each. Don't remember them being that expensive.

Also I thought that that particular cartridge didn't require a bushing. I thought that the dies just screwed directly into the machine with the bushing removed.
