458 Lott
Does anyone have a good load for a 458 Lott for 350 gr. Hornady with RL7 for around 2200fps? I am also working on 405gr Remington s and want around the same velocity of 2100 to 2200 fps. I am not really looking for speed I want something that sort of matches the full house loads for practice and the like. Everywhere I look it seems the loads are for maximum velocity and that is not what I need.
Thank you

My load in my CZ550 that I have used RL7 was

350 horn horn brass winm primer with 70 grains of RL7. Velocity was 2382 fps

I am sure about 65 grains would put you in the 2200 fps

I'm actually looking to do exactly the same thing. I'll provide some feedback on this post (whenever it thaws up here in the god-forsaken north) and I can get to the range. I have used a few different powders and if memory serves, I loaded some 350's and 405's up with some RL7. Looking forward to what you find as well.

Thanks to both of you,
I finally scored some 405s and I think they will be great practice loads. MidwayUSA had them and I think that if this works out I will need plenty more. That and I need to find some RL15.

After searching the internet I Found a load for 75 grains of Reloader15 with 405 gr Rems @ 2150 fps I am going to see if that works. When it warms up a bit that is.
