Anybody used plated bullets (Rainier or Berry's) in the 45 Win. Mag.?

Any powder recommendations?

Handgun is an LAR Grizzly so the load has to have enough to work the slide.

I have used Rainier 230 Gr. heads with great success. I had to use Unique powder to get the velocity stated. Best for you to work up your own loads. If you can't find any info, let me know.
Unique is a dirty powder but works great. I am using a Grizzly pistol. It has a 6.5 in bbl.
Good luck.

Thanks for the info Bob. I wondered if the 45 Win. Mag. might not have been a bit too robust for the plated bullets. Good to hear from someone with actual experience in the same type handgun. Now to have fun working up a load.

CZ Try the following link from Steve's Reloading Pages.

Be sure to start at the lower end as is usually suggested. I won't tell you what I use since your pistol may use a slightly heavier or lighter load.
I have been able to shoot cloverleafs at 25yds.
Good luck
