Anybody know a source for this powder?

I don't think there is a source any longer. The powder was Czech surplus brought in by Accurate. Burn rate is right between 2230 and 1680. I bought 16lbs when it first came out, wish I had gotten more. It works great in 222 and 223 loads.

Craigster - Sometimes I think you are living in my back pocket, or have taken over my soul when I read your posts... I also bought 16 pounds of it when I first saw it advertised, and wish I had bought 64 lbs. It is the best powder I've ever found for the .222 and the .221 Remington cartridges. I agree, it is no longer available except maybe from a few individuals who don't realize what they have.... My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Rem 50g HP 21.5gr 2200 Rem 7 1/2 BR primer OAL 2.145 - 2.155 I shoot a lot of ground squirrels and sage rats in the Spring and burn lots of ammo. The Remington bullets are very accurate, explosive, and cheap. I have 2 222's (don't own a 223) and use this load in both rifles. This load has worked with any 50gr bullet in the 222. I like the Rem's, I see no advantage in using "premium" bullets in this application. In fact, 50gr is the only weight I use in the 222. They just plain work. Velocity is right near 3250. A buddy uses an almost identical load in his 223. If you don't happen to have any of the 2200, 24.3grs of BLC-2 makes an almost identical load, at least in my rifles. Hope this helps. Good shooting!

Gee, I'd help you out but I only have about 16 pounds left. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

I also have two .222's. For my Sako L-46 and CZ single shot, both really like either 21.0 grains or 21.5 grains 2200 with Speer 50-gr. TNT's and F-205-M primers. 20.5 grains also works well, even more accurate but not as peppy or flat shooting, of course. A friend's 221 dotes on the same bullets, but 19.0 grs.of powder and Rem 7-1/2 primers. My country gal's just a moonshiner's daughter, but I love her still.

Dammit Roger, I think all I've got left is a shade over 9lbs . Well, at 21.5grs per round that will give me 2930.23 rounds if I don't spill any. That will probably hold me for a while unless they start comin' thru the wire.

In .223 on mil cases and WSR primers, 23.3 gr of Datapowder 2200 w 55 gr Ball bullets I get 3,133 fps in a 20" bbl and 2,605 fps in an 11.5" bbl. Only small fault I have with this powder is that it is not flash deterred. Very bright. Wish I had bought much more than I did when it was available. Am almost ready to open the last jug. Although I lament the passing of 2200 I'm getting just as good bang for the buck in WCC844 and 2230-C. The WCC846 ain't all bad either. The 2230-C has become a real stand by for a number of my shooting cohorts and myself. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward.
