Anybody know who made the brass for Hansen Cartridge Company? I have come into a fair quantity of it, and just wonder what kind of quality it is? Box says made in Yugoslavia -Prvi by chance?

Many, many years ago I bought some Hansen factory ammo. The brass had crimped primer pockets, so beware of this if/when you try to reload.

If it is headstamped nny it is Prvi.
I have some 8X57 sold by Hansen and it was not Prvi.

Hanson also packaged IMI ammo made in Isreal. It would appear that they were a repackaging ammo source??? popcornroger

Guys,
Here is a handy resource. I have 5 boxes of Hansen 8X57 ammo I bought form a gun shop that sold a lot of Hansen ammo in the mid 80's.
This brass is marked IK.
At the website this ammo is show to be made by
Igman Zavod, Konjic, Yugoslavia
This was in the silver box with the tan end flap. The primers were also crimped into place.
The Igman product had about 5% leaky primers. If I ever reload this junk it will probably be fired in an autoloader.

I also have Hansen brass in the Hansen box with the blue end flap. It is headstamped nny.

Jay Hansen runs the shop in Southport, CT and does/did much ammunition work with Eastern Europe and Korea, namely Igman, Prvi Partizan and PMC, among others. I can't say for certain if he is currently offering ammo under the Hansen label. I'm sure he could fill you in on current activities...
