SmilerHave had a brand new mod36 7.5x54 for six years and just started loading for it. All the data I have has bullets moving out at 30-30 energy levels.

One sight I came accross recommends using 7.62 X51 load data. This seems reasoable to me as the 7.5 case capacity is greater than that of the 7.62. Not knowing the capabilities of the rifle and what pressures it was designed to work at tends to make me a little cautious.

Is anyone loading for this round or have usable info about the rifle? Maybe some of you English speaking Frenchmen can help me. waveroger

My load book is at home and I'm at work, so I can't look up the load I use. I got my load data from Hodgdon... it's not on their web site, but if you call they'll email you the loads they have for 7.5 Swiss.

Oh, and ask 'em why they don't put the load data for the Swiss Miss on their web site, would ya? Smiler

Oops. I thought you were asking for 7.5x55 Swiss. My bad. I'd give Hodgdon a call anyhow. They've got load data they don't put on their web site.

I load for 7.5x54 mas. I bought my supply of empty cases from Grafs.com.

As for loads I just use .308 data with attention being paid to avoid max loads. Now before you flip out, consider that 7.5 french has a somewhat lower pressure rating but at the same time it has a bit more case capacity than .308
, But all of that is a moot point as I have another MAS36 that has been rechambered to shoot 308 WIN so it's a no brainer that the gun will handle the loads.

That being said my favroute has been 150gr winchester FMJ bulk bullets over a charge of BL-c2
