I currently have the 500 gr nosler solids and was looking for a load for my 460 weatherby. Im not comfortable just guessing that i can load the 500’s the same as the 500 grain solids that barnes made and still has data for. I would suspect they could use the same load but i dont want to gamble. Too bad barnes had to quit making them. I did have a good load worked up for them for my 2013 elephant hunt. They had 1 moa groups at 100 yds @2600 fps and worked well on that hunt. The reason for the load is because i want a bullet that can go through a lot of brush without deflecting. I have a few hundred factory rounds of the 450 gr tsx. Would those deflect in heavy brush or would they stay the course? Any information you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated.

If there is brush, there is absolutely no guarantee that the billet will go straight t.

Does anyone have a starting point for a load with the 500 gr nosler solid?

115 grains of 4350. 2500 f/s with 500 grains. Fine with 500 grain Hornady and also with 500 grain Barnes X. I could never get the 500 X bullet to shoot. Maybe the slower Mark V twist of 1 in 16/ These were the older Barnes X without grooves. The 400 grain X without grooves was very accurate with 4064. 115 grains 4350 is well off maximum. This load also shoots extremely well with 500 grain Swift. If you want a lot more information I would suggest making your post in Big Bores forum. RIP on there for one has a ton of 460 info and he is also a 115 grain 4350 user.
