How fast is too fast for these bullets? I picked up 150 .458 350gr on the cheap for my 450NE. Now the only question is will they handle the velocity?

Are the plated, Hard cast, Or jacketed?

berry's are plated. Faintly recall a velocity around 1800 fps is max for them, but not sure about that. I've used them for reduced loads in a 30-06.

Velocities depend on the caliber, but as a rule of thumb, we recommend you don't shoot our plated bullets over 1250 feet-per-second. Our 44's actually shoot best around 1150 fps. 45's are generally good at 850-900 fps. I commonly use 59.0 grains of either IMR 4895 or N-135 behind the plated .45 caliber Berry's bullets in my .45-70 Browning M 1886 lever action, and in my gun they work just fine...very accurate out to 100 yards.

I haven't shot them for group at distances longer than that, but have no trouble at all with things like deer out to beyond 150 yards.
I Haven't experienced any leading whatsoever with them.

Cast bullets are a law unto themselves. I suspect the critical concern is whether your individual rifle barrels "like" them.

Don't know about the 45 cal but the 30 cal in four rifles is MOA when kept under 1700 fps. Starts to unravel after that. roger
