How fast is too fast for these bullets? I picked up 150 .458 350gr on the cheap for my 450NE. Now the only question is will they handle the velocity? berry's are plated. Faintly recall a velocity around 1800 fps is max for them, but not sure about that. I've used them for reduced loads in a 30-06.

I commonly use 59.0 grains of either IMR 4895 or N-135 behind the plated .45 caliber Berry's bullets in my .45-70 Browning M 1886 lever action, and in my gun they work just fine...very accurate out to 100 yards. I haven't shot them for group at distances longer than that, but have no trouble at all with things like deer out to beyond 150 yards. I Haven't experienced any leading whatsoever with them. Cast bullets are a law unto themselves. I suspect the critical concern is whether your individual rifle barrels "like" them.

Don't know about the 45 cal but the 30 cal in four rifles is MOA when kept under 1700 fps. Starts to unravel after that. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..
