I liked H-450, and used it in .270 and 7mm Rem mag. Still have about 4lbs, wish they still sold it.

Yep, I'd love to get my hands on some for my .270, too. Anyone know why it was discontinued, to begin with???

I heard it was poor sales, about 10 years ago, you could send in 2 labels from any 1lb Hodgdon powder, and they would send you a lb of H-450 free!

I loaded h-450 in 22/250 with cci mag primers. Many missfires. The powder was hard to get burning. When the bullets were pulled, u could see where the powder started burning and then quit. If i had not seen it i would not beleve it. 243winxb

I love this powder!!!! I am always looking for more at the shows I go to. I think H-4831 is very close to the same burn rate.

It thought it was the best powder I ever used in my .338 until I switched to Re22. I haven't tried using Winchester's slow ball powder but it should be fairly close to H450.
H450 was taken off the market once before and Hogden brought it back after about 10 years. Maybe they will bring it back again?

Sure will when my 30-some pounds is all gone...but...isn't that why we reload? I'm sure to find a replacement...
