I need a manual case trimmer that will handle .223 through 416 Rigby & 470NE.

Which one is the best?

Thanks

MHC,

I've got an old Forester that has served me well for years. I find though, I use it less & less. While I'm not sure, I have my doubts if it would be large enough to accomodate a .416 Rigby or a 470NE.

I've become a big fan of the inexpensive Lee Hand-Held Case Trimmers, especially since they work so well with either a Drill Press, Drill or battery-powered Screwdriver. The nice part about these little jewels is that Lee also takes custom orders on these items.

Good Luck in your Quest.

Cheers,

I ordered the Wilson today. It will handle everything up to and including the 416 Rigby. However, it won't work for the 470NE, so I will order a RCBS case trimming die for it.

Thanks for the help.

Forster Classic trimmer will do your 416 Rigby as well as your 470. It will do more than that.

I use a Lyman trimmer for my 416 Rigby and 470 NE. Does a decent job, but still prefer my Forster for everything else.

Been using trim dies lately (375 H&H, 300 SAUM), found them on Gunbroker pretty cheap, pretty quick and precise.

It will handle a 470 if you remove the cutter bushing and drill a new hole in the base and move the bushing closer to the end of the base.
