Does anyone have a good light load for a .44 mag shooting hornady 300 grain xtp?

How light do you wanna go? In heavy loads, I've found 2400 too fast and IMR4227 just right but I'm sure any of the listed BlueDot, etc recipes will fit for lighter applications.

Check Steve's pages - he'll likely have some good ones.

Just courious,
Why would you want a light load for a 300 gr bullet?
I use WW296 for all my jacketed loads, and Winchester doesn't recommend reducing.
If you want to pratice, use lead and load from Lymans Cast Bullet book.
For pratice i use Liberty 205 gr HCL,10 gr 231,medium crimp,WLP primer.
Accurate, easy to shoot, and isn't as hard on the gun.
By the way, mine is a Ruger SBH 7.5.
I prefer the 320 gr hard cast over the 300 XTP for hunting.

Z has a point, jacketed bullets in light loads are not a good idea. I would find a load that stays abouve 1000fps or switch to a 300gr lead bullet. 16-17gr H2400 will get you close.
