I am looking for cartridge overall length on a Dardas Cast bullet .38spl (158gr. LSWC). The books I have list several similar bullets with various COAL. Is anyone familiar with these bullets?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seat the bullet to the center of the crimp groove, the upper most groove in most bullets. This should be quite close to the COL listed for similar bullets. Be sure to start your load low and work up.
Enjoy

The data I have is not specific to this particular bullet. I can roll crimp it at the 1.470 as shown in the picture, with 3.0 grains of Bullseye and work up from there. I'll chrono the round to compare against load data listed in my manuals.

Yeah. It's enough to make a man suspect it ain't critical ain't it?

I think, in most cases, that the listed COAL is where they loaded the round to when they worked it up. I don't believe it is that critical.
