| I picked up a couple boxes of Sierra 130 gr , .264 diam bullets to try in my 6.5-06. Has anyone tried these bullets in a 6.5-06 ? Was planning on trying 7828, RL23 and IMR 4955. Anyone have any experience with one of these combinations ? Would appreciate any input. |

| Thanks, I shot my 6.5x280AI today for the first time 57 hrs of rl26 147 eld gave a average of 3023, sd of 9 only 4 rounds were recorded. 58 hrs gave me 3075 sd of 10.5 . 8 rounds fired . bolt lift was easy, primers looked ok , still plenty of room for powder. That was fire forming loads .Nosler 280 ackley improved brass necked down to 6.5 with false shoulder and seated hard into the lands. bullet run out was hight 10 to 15 thou. fire firmed cases were down to .003.1 moa or better for the small sample |

| Which 6.5-06 do you have? The standard 6.5-06 has a throat lead of about .060 pretty much the same as the 30-06. The 6.5-06 A Square is NOT the same as the lead is around .240. Found this out the hard way with a barreler who promised me a 6.5-06, and I wound up with an A-square which I didn't want. I have since re-barreled with a Pac-Nor 6.5-06 and am now satisfied. I like to have the option of getting close to the lands if I choose, and in my experience it makes a huge difference in Accuracy. Jerry

| jerry I am running a 6.5x280 ackley improved. The shoulder is pushed out a little farther. 58 grs. have not started up the shoulder. I am not sure what the lead is. It is the standard listed by PTG.I need to get a print of the reamer. 40 degree shoulder. I used a 280 rem go gage when I ran it in,may be little deep. The standard 280 ackley dies are too tight, but the cases slip back into the chamber no problem.with pressure |

| I only have 180 rounds thru this 6.5-06. So far the best group I have gotten is .520 with a 120 Grain Sierra and 57.5 grains of IMR7828 right around 3050 fps. With the A-Square chambering, I couldn't get much better than 1.25" groups. Jerry
