FWIW - here are some "lite" loads I concocted for my son's .308 and shot over my Oehler 35 for velocity.

Rifle: Ruger MK II compact/.308 Win/16.5" bbl
Brass: RP nickel plated
Primer: Fed 210
Bullet: Sierra 125 gr spitzer

11.0 gr Unique - 1,475 fps
11.5 gr Unique - 1,530 fps
12.0 gr Unique - 1,585 fps

Looks like it will do 1" groups at 60 yds. I only shot one 3-shot group at each powder level. My target velocity was 1,500 fps. The purpose of this load was to develop a lite plinking load for the kid to practice with.

I put together a lite .308 load awhile back that consisted of:

110gr Speer varminter hollow point
16gr Green Dot
Vel: 2040fps
Extreme spread: 11 fps (chrono'd 10 rounds)

This load grouped right at 2" at 100 yards. Very low noise and recoil. A fun little load that essentially duplicates .30 Carbine ballistics.

Those light loads for a 308 are a great idea for light practice/small game loads. A buddy of mine had a light weight 308 and wanted some light loads to hunt deer with. I loaded him up some 150gr bullets normally used in the 30-30 at 30-30 velocities [or just over]. They shot 1" groups from his 18" bbl rifle and killed deer very good.

I have used 2400 and Hornady 130 single-shot pistol bullets in the .308 for a reduced load.
Never killed any critters with it but it shot well and had very little recoil.
