I am a new reloader and today here are my results.

I reloaded Barnes XXX in 180 gr. with 61 and 63 Gr IMR 4350. My gun was really inconsistent at 100 Yds.

I also reloaded Nosler Accubond in 180 gr. with 1 and 1/2 groups.

I wanted to shoot the 3X for Africa. Any suggestions for a different config. with 4350 or do I need another buller ort another powder?

thanks sprig

I am having excellent results with Ramshot Hunter with 165 and 180 gr loads in my 300 WSM. I have tried R-19, H4350, AA MagPro, H414, H4831 and Hunter put them all to shame in both velocity and accuracy.

Thanks for the replys. I am not ready to change powders yet. Primer is CCI for large rifle. I started with 61 gr and also used 63 gr. Both sprayed. I am wondering about the seating but it all looks good. Maybe 4350 isn't right like the other posters said. I am going to a shooting school in about two weeks where I have to shoot 300 rounds in three days. My friend and I bought 8 pounds of 4350 so I am kinda stuck.

With norma brass, 180 accubonds, WLRM primers, and H4350 I shot a 0.22" 3 shot group 4 days ago. I have talked to many people that say H4350 just outperforms IMR 4350 in the 300 WSM. Don't know why, but the two do act a bit different.

I have data for IMR 4350 that goes as high as 66.5 grains,(hornady data,3,000 fps). In my Browning, I have to push the limit to get accuracy. You need to do more load workups than just 2 loads.

I found the lower,(recommended starting loads), to be a waste of time and components. My favorite powders are; AA XMR-4350, R-19 and H 4831SC. Favorite bullet is Hornady interbonds in 165 and 180 grains.

No experiance in the WSM, but in my WIN mag I shoot 180 TSX, but seat them only .030 of the lands. If I go out to .050, the groups opened up.

My gun likes the following 300 WSM loads-

180 gr Hornady Interbonds ahead of 66 gr. of Win 760 powder

180 gr Speer Grand Slams ahead of 65 gr of Win 760.

WLRM primers in both cases.
