Gentlemen, I would greatly appreciate any information on the appropriate Vhita Vouri powder for a .22-250 Remington and bullet weights from 50 to 52 grains. Thank you, Matt.

Matt: The two Vihtavuori powders that would seem most likely to work in your 22-250 with 50 or 52 grain bullets are N 135 and N 140. The latest Vihtavuori loading manual lists maximum loads for 50 grain bullets as being 34.4 grains for N 135 and 37.2 for N 140. The only one I have tried in my 22-250's is N 140. It gave me good groups and reasonable velocities, but nothing I am not already getting with H 4895. Good Luck, R F

Asked a friend: N540 did magic in his rifle, both accuracy and speedwise. Its the cleanest burning powder Ive ever tried. AKI

Matt, here http://www.vihtavuori.fi/vihtavuori/index.html you will find the official reloading datas for the .22-250 with Vihtavuori (Kemira) powders. Hav no personal experience with that cartridge. ------------------

I'm currently using VV 135 with 50 grain bullets and am pleased.

I saw something of interest in a magazine last night. It mentioned 540, I think, as a new powder developed for the military to provide consistent velocity over wide temperature swings. I intend to look into this powder for use in my 22/6mm. Just a thought. Reed
