Just took delivery of some 225 gn. Accubond's. I see some of you have had good results from RL-19 and Varget, but I'm looking for some specific data on solid performers to give me a reference point to start. Also, has anyone had any experience with reloading the 300 gn. Sierra MatchKing's? Seems like every powder charge I try is compressed. That one long friggin' bullet. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey, new to the thread. Was wondering if any of you guys have had any luck or experimented with 300 gn. Sierra MatchKings in the 338 Win Mag? Found a decent load with just under 1" MOA. If my memory serves (sheets upstairs) it was 75.0 gn. Reloader 22 w/ bullet seated .010 off the rifling. Recoil was friggin' ridiculous, but "no pain, no gain!" Also, looking to see if anyone has experimented with the new 225 gn. Nosler Accubonds?

Thanks,

C. Johnson

I shot a 6x6 Elk with 225 Accubonds and IMR-4350. Worked Awesome. After reading quite a bit about the 338 Win mag and loading for 5 IMHO the first powder to start with is IMR-4350 followed closely by RL-22. Usually if one of these don't work well something is wrong with your 338......DJ
