I was wondering if there is any demand for these cases in the reloading community currently,and if so, how much do they go for?

A lot of people use the mil-surp brass to reload as it's a bit stronger than commercial due to the brass being a bit thicker. With that in mind, you need to downcharge the load appx. 10% or so.

Also, if you're thinking of using mil-surp brass, do yourself a favor, and get the "virgin" never loaded, tumbled, and ""SWAGED"". It is a huge PITA to swage the primer pockets. I'd recomend paying the extra couple of dollars per hundred/ thousand to have it done for you.

There is a market for mil .308, however it is shrinking. Many highpower shooters(the biggest users of rifle mil surp. brass)are switching/have switched to the M16/AR15 in .223. However to answer your question. The .308 once fired usually goes for around 5 to 6 dollars per hundred, or 50 dollars per thousand.

As said earlier, the pool is drying up a bit. Wideners has unfired, mechanically deprimed .308 brass for $35 per 500. (comes out to $14.28 per 100) Probably better off just buying Winchester or Remington brass.

Um....I think that comes out to $7/100.

Oh - and I just checked - we could honestly say that "Widener's has LISTED unfired, mechanically deprimed .308 brass for $35/100". They also claim to have none in stock.

If you want some, drop me an email...I have some nice mil brass that I would part with...some is deprimed and cleaned, some is not. All is sorted by headstamp.

Sorry about that, I divided 500 by 35, not the other way around. (my bad. I suck at math).

I just bought a bunch of LC ammo, and shot the crap through my rifle. I've then had the "distinct pleasure", of having to knock out, and swage the primer pocket crimp. (PITA!!)

As said, they have it "LISTED".

Mike - I think you've helped. At least Widener's has the POTENTIAL to have this brass.

I just processed about 1,000 once-fired .223 - LC92. I think it's going to be great brass, but there's a LOT of work involved in getting it ready to load. Flash-holes deburred, cases sized, trimmed, chamfered in and out and - yep - primer crimp removed. That actually went pretty quickly. I got a tool from CH4D and made some modifications to it and it worked pretty well. Works sort of like the Dillon crimp remover but at a lot less cost.
