Looking for some loads using RL-15 and: Hornady 400 gr RN Interlocks
Barnes 400 gr solids
Barnes 350 gr X

all w/ COL of 3.34." I am fairly new to reloading, and don't plan to play with bullet seating depth; they wouldn't fit in the mag anyway. I want reasonable hunting accuracy, and decent vel, but not max loads.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Todd

Todd,

Check out the links here. Go to the 416 Taylor web page and check out Brian's sight.

I am have a Taylor built as we speak. Using a Ruger M77 tang Saftey model.

Will begin load devolopment in about 3-4 weeks. I am planning on using the 400 Gr. Hornady's, Swift A frame and Noslers first.
My paper reaserch indicates RL15 IMR4320 and H4895 maybe the best choice of powders.

Good Luck

2 buddies of mine with 416 Rigbys have been using the 350 Speer for load development, though neither has game on the ground with his rifle yet.

The Speer is economical compared to some other jacketed .416 bullets I've seen. You may want to ch3eck it out.

Todd,

You can get to my 416 Taylor webpage by clicking on the link in my signature line.

I don't have data for the 400gr Barnes bullets though. You could use the Hornady data, but I'd back off several grains, as Barnes bullets are known for producing higher than normal pressures.

Bigdog,

Thanks for sterring Tod my way!
