Here's their new reloading site that combines data for IMR, Hodgdon, and win powder all into one page. http://data.hodgdon.com/main_menu.asp It's ok and a good reference but in some cases they've sure been "weenie" on data....I guess no worse than what all the other companies are doing. It's definately a decent place to cross-reference things.

Wow, the stuff on the 280 Rem AI and 45-70 is pretty good. Well, at least we haven't seen it before. I wonder if all these loads are in the Hodgdon 2008 Annual Manual? You learn something new everyday whether you want to or not.

Thanks Kraky.....maybe our moderator Mark can post at the head of the reloading forum the links to Hodgdon, Alliant, AA, Ramshot and other commonly used powders for folks to use. A lot of posters would do well to consult these references rather than posting questions.....the data is good and it's free! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Who typed in all that old C.U.P. data?

Looks like the age old argument about whether some win powders and Hodgdon are the same can now be settled. I see in cartridges that list W296 and H110 they show the exact same pressure and velocity. They do the same for H414 and Win760--exact same pressure and velocity.

Does anybody know if IMR 4227 and H-4227 can be interchanged?

I got into a real pissing contest once over this....essentially it was my position that one needs to be extremely careful inferring that IMR XXXX = H-XXXX.....often times I believe it's true such as 4227, and 4350.....but when one says that someone assumes all XXXX = XXXX and we have trouble. Here's my point.....data is at your finger tips and free.....please don't guess! When Hodgdon bought IMR I hoped they'd announce equivanence and condsolidate.....so far it hasn't happened. Until they do we should just key up the data and use it. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Vapodog is right, interchanging data between them isn`t the best idea. They are not the same powder although similar. The idea with these two is moot anyway as the Hodgdon version, I hear, is being discontinued. ------------------------------------ The trouble with the Internet is that it's replacing masturbation as a leisure activity. ~Patrick Murray "Why shouldn`t truth be stranger then fiction? I don't know, other than the unified search, it's not any better than three separate sites. They still won't show 8x57 data from all three vendors side by side. I was hoping maybe Hodgdon would convince the IMR and Winchester divisions to up the pressure limits on their 8x57 loads to match Hodgdon's. No such luck. Andy Pray, Vote, Shoot, Reload.

Hodgdon data on the 8x57 is not consistent IMHO. For years they have been showing H4198 as 300 fps faster than the slow powders with 170 gr. That non sense is like something from Speer 12 or Speer 13. Speer may be dishonest, but I think Hodgdon is just mixing old data [from when Hodgdon was in someone's garage] with new wimp data.

I'm just happy to find data on the 8x57 that has a pressure over that of the 30-30!! I'm definitely bookmarking this website! Hank

Thanks Kraky! That's a real helpful tool. I get tired of having to pull up each site when I want a quick look. Reloader

I am surprised at the max pressures they list for the 6.5-06. For those of us with a 6.5-06 even based on high number 1903 Springfield actions, they are way too high. Barstooler
