This is probably the most basic question one could have, obviously I'm new at this, but do you have to have different presses and such to reload both handgun and rifle ammo? I know you need different dies and stuff, but what about the big pieces? Thanks in advance for any help! Mike

You could handle all of your rifle & psitol loading w/ a good single stage press like the RCBS RC. If you shoot a lot of handgun ammo, like 500rds/wk, a progressive press will suit you better. I would start w/ the single stage, you'll need one anyway. If you decide later you need more pistol ammo capacity, get a progressive like the Dillon 550B. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

You can use the same press for both and just change dies. unless you got lots of money and want to splurge T/C Contender Shooter

Thanks for the replies! I was hoping they'd do the same. Mike

i use the old lee 4 hole turret for pistol and rifle loads. the new lee turret would be even better. you can buy a few turrets and have all your dies adjusted and ready to load and just drop in the turret you need. i have mine bolted to a piece of 2x6 and "C" clamp it to the bench. if you really get interested in reloading, you might want to buy a few older presses on ebay and use them i have a small collection i enjoy.
