Wanting to work on a few different calibers, last week I ordered from Lock, Stock, & Barrel some misc. pilots for my Redding 1400 trimmer. I still don't like the way they put your full credit card number on the shipping reciept in the package. But now it says that requesting: U.P.S. Signature Required, so the package doesn't get left at your neighbors or where ever cost $2.00 extra. What's up with this? E-mailed U.P.S. to try and find out. Maybe I should titled this thread being Nickled and Dimed to Death! Phil

Howdy Greyghost, This must be something new. I received a stock from "L,S,&B" three or four weeks ago with no such problems! The package was even left at my neighbors, no extra charge. What gives here??? Coach

Sounds like they're following in Midway's steps. Had a good thing going, then start changing (adding costs), and running their customer base off.

Could have been a mistake or UPS drivers sometimes make the decision on their own. I've had it happen to me before several times from all sorts of vendors. I won't order from Midway anymore. I wrote a letter to Larry Potterfield and after a Month and a half (he was on safari) he got back, addressing none of my issues, and simply said contact the returns department. I explained how I've been a customer for 16 years and how their service and attitude have gone downhill. Lock Stock has treated me real well. In fact, I called asking if they carried an item that they sold accesories for. They said no but that they could just call the mfg and have it drop shipped. I couldn't believe the price it must have been at their cost. Maybe someone should contact them about leaving the whole credit card number visible. -Mike

As I said in my post, I asked Lock, Stock, and Barrel to Request U.P.S. Signature on delivery. Putting a sticker on the box or what ever they do. And aparently that is just type one extra line on the shipping label. The reason for this was that U.P.S. was leaving my packages all over the neighbor hood. But all the order consisted of was a few pilot's for my trimmer, and a couple of funnel lids for my Hodgedon powder. The whole package probably didn't weigh a 1/2 pound. I've never had a problem with Lock, Stock, and Barrel, and they have always been friendly to talk with. But this seemed to be another U.P.S. problem. So I e-mailed them yesterday. And got this back in Reply: ____________________________________ Dear Philip L. Passmore: Thank you for your inquiry. I think they took lessons form "Clinton" Phil

I was always under the impression that it was course of business for UPS, FEDEX, etc. to require a signature at delivery to protect the sender and reciever from loss. I thought they left things without signature as a courtesy to those who specially requested it. I think I even filled out a card telling them that no signature was required for my address. This is going the way of everything else. Have you ever read your phone bill, cable bill, electric bill, water bill, etc.?
