Anyone have pet loads for their 41 magnum revolver? I am mostly into cast bullets. Any load you have used quite a bit would interest me. TIA and Be Well, Packy.

I have 22 different pistol powders, 6 different LP primers, and 37 different bullets in .410/.411, .429/.430 and .451/.452 calibers. I've been trying several different combinations for 41 mag, 44 mag, and 45 Colt each week for many years, and keep good notes. These are my favorite and most accurate 41 mag loads:

Ruger Blackhawk, 4⅝ inch
GT 228 gr. SWC . . . 9.0 gr. Unique . . . WLP primer . . . 1.580" deep seated . . . 1100 fps
GT 240 gr. SWC . . . 18.2 gr. 4100 . . . WLP primer . . . 1.675" OAL . . . 1255 fps

S&W Model 57, 8⅜ inch
Nosler 210 JHP . . . 13.0 gr. N105 . . . WLP primer . . . 1.590" OAL . . . 1325 fps
GT 250 gr. WHP . . . 11.6 gr. N105 . . . CCI-300 primer . . . 1.705" OAL . . . 1165 fps

NOE 412-251WFN AA4100 CCI300 Start at 17 gr. and work up. I quit at about 1280 fps.
An old favorite, watch oal and use a tight crimp to keep bullets from jumping: Lyman 410426 H110(W296 or WC820) CCI350. Start at 18 gr. and work up. In my S&W 57 6" these can be pushed to over 1300 fps, same for my 4-5/8 old model Blackhawk. These can be a hand full. AA#9 and AA4100 also work well with heavy bullets in the .41.

I use Hodgdon H110.

For plinking, 170 Gr. Sierra JHC, over 25.0 Gr.

For hogs and deer I will be using 21.0 Gr. with the 210 Gr. Hornady XTP.

I also have a box of Sierra 210 Gr. JHC. (My old Sierra manual (2nd Edition) shows the max. load with H110 is 20.6 Gr. The 4th Edition says 20.4. That doesn't seem right to me. Does anyone have the latest Sierra recommendation for H110?)

I might just use 18 gr as a conservative measure and LabRadar it. 210 or 220 gr Jacketed SP and 210, 215, or 220 gr cast. If it is close to a one hole load it would be called max for me. Be Well, Packy.

Just got a 8 lb keg of WW296 in the mail today to feed the .41s. Keep in mind that WW296 is the same as H110. Thinking I use 21 grains of WW296 and 210 grain XTPs

God Bless, Louis

I was thinking 20 gr H110 myself but because I have some WW cases. and Ken Waters in his big book of articles with loads said the WW is a "thickerer" case. So less capacity. I ran into this with 7.62X51 military LC brass. I use 2 grains less in them compared to Federal and Remington cases. I had friends that worked Lake City and drove from my home town to there for work. Thanks and Be Well, Packy

Fired a half box of Hornady 210gr. XTP over 21.0gr. of Hodgdon H110 this morning. I was using standard large pistol primers. I'm very satisfied.
