Looks to be (IS!) of recent manufact. Approx. 2 - 5/16" length. Marked between base of case and threads "P 30-06". Unusual in that opening on top of die is unthreaded for the usual decap/expander stem. Entire inside is like a chamber for 30-06. My guess is this is a F.L. resize or a trim die. What do you say it is and is it Pacific, RCBS, or ?

FS if anyone can use it. Looks new.

sonofagun,
Look closely at the die, I'll bet it has "IMP 3006" which is for the 3006 AI cartridge. I used mine as a neck sizing die for my 3006 until I got a carbide die.

It sounds like a "file trim" die. Run the brass in, like a FL sizer, and file off everything that sticks out.
To check, run a file across the top surface and see if it cuts in or just polishes up the surface (the top of a file die is very hard).
P=Pacific?
