So I grabbed this new condition, older rcbs o'haus 505 scale with a micrometer poise (the one with the gram conversion scale printed on the side)from ebay, and it IS very nice. one problem though, no manual. I am having to turn the micro-adjust to + .4 grains (4/10th of a grain) to get it to zero. Anybody know offhand how to adjust this model. There is a screw in the micro-poise, or there also seems to be b-b like weights in the pan base. either of these the "correct way" to adjust this thing to zero?

The leg should be justable for height-on left bottom. Screw it in or out to get the poise to read zero.

If you need to add or subtract pan weight (BBs) or adjust the poise position on the beam I`d call RCBS and tell them. Likely they`ll have you ship it to them and fix it under warrenty

I ended up double checking with RCBS, and was amazed and how nice they are! Turns out the scale is actually a 5-10. they told me to make sure it was level, and then adjust the pan weights (tiny bb's) til it was close to dead on...put back together and then use the height adjust to get a final zero out.

Worked great! They also said if I had any trouble to call back and they would fix it. I explained that it was an older o'hous/rcbs model I got used on ebay and they did not care. If they made it, it is covered for life! They even found an old manual for me and are sending it for free.

This kind of response will be making me an RCBS customer for a LONG time!
