When I recieved the Sierra 50th Edition Reloading Manuals (Both) the Riffle, and Handgun. They were tightly wrapped in plastic, and looked to be in good condition. As if they came direct from the printers. The UPS box they came in was in great shape. But when I opened them up, the vinyl covered note books looked like they had a case of "dry rot". Both books were cracked, ripped, or torn along the seams where they fold, and along the edges. Have any of you ran into this? I'm sure "Lock, Stock, and Barrel" where I purchased them would make it rite. But as they were packaged properly, and in factory condition. I don't consider it there responsability. What do you all think? I e-mailed Customer Support at Sierra, and complained. I guess I'll see what they say.

Considering that edition was printed in 1995, it is possible that it has been sitting somewhere for the past 7 years.

Sierra should make good and send you new...

After E-mailing Sierra, they told me that they have had a problem with the manuals cracking, but only after use. And that the books are out of print, and they don't have any in stock. But to contact Lock, Stock, and Barrel to see if they have any to exchange with, that aren't cracked. I guess they're supposed to open their entire supply, until they find some that aren't cracked. Ain't worth it!

Ricciardelli, you're probably right, they're probably old, and been sitting in some store room for years.

Hummmm...since the "latest manual" is out of print, I guess the rumor I heard about a new one being released in a month or so is true....

Tell Sierra that you will take a cope of the new version when it is released...
