Best powder choice for WSM cartridges
I am loading for WSM cartridges and am interested in what powder gives the best velocity? I am loading for 7 WSm (soon) 300 WSM and 325 WSM. I have been using RE17.. what other choices are out there?? Thanks Robbie

I have had good accuracy with RL22 in the 300WSM but have switched to RL17 in my 7mmWSM from h414 and RL22. I am trying some loads in the 300WSM with RL17 and getting good velocity and accuracy so far. I am currently trying different seating depths with TSX's in the 300 WSM.

So far my .270WSM likes H4831SC with 140 grain BT's and Retumbo with 150 grain Partitions.

For a 300 wsm and Barnes bullets, R 17 works well and it is not a compressed load. The problem with short mags is that a lot of powders will be compressed loads.

I used 64.2 gr of R-17 and 180 gr TTSX bullets with CCI LM primers and got sub moa and over 2900 fps.

Like "jeffeosso" says, RL-22 is very good for my .270 WSM's, with RL-25 being a player for the heavier bullets. Good shooting.

I have had a good bit of luck with Varget in 300WSM for 150s, and H4831SC in the 165s.
