I recently purchased one of these for a song and am looking for load info. What powders and bullets have you had good luck with? How well does it handle heavier bullets, i.e. 175gr? RL19 looks to be an almost perfect match. Thanks

JN I have had very satisfactory results using IMR 4350 &4831 and RL19 with 139 and 154 gr Interbonds.I have not tried any heavier bullets. I think you will find you will compromise your case capacity by going to heavier bullets. However if you have to do that consider some of the slow buring ball powders. W760 and slower.

Thanks for the info. I picked up a box of 139gr Interbonds today and will give them a try with RL19. I was hoping that heavier bullets would work, but didn't really think they would with such a small case.

that 7saum will do anything a 280 will. if you only get 2700 with a 160 are you really giving up anything?

A 160 at 2700 isn't giving anything up - my 30=06 runs at about the same speed with 165s. However this Model Seven is the first gun I have loaded for that limits seating depth to mag length. I have some 175s that I will load and see how they work. I have loaded up some 139s because that is all that is available locally.

If I could only expect 2700fps from a160gr bullet, I wouldn't own the SAUM, I get that from my 280 w/o bending anything. You should be able to get closer to 2900fps w/ the SUAM. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

jnm Try Reloader-22 and Speer HotCores in 145gr and/or 160gr. The 7SAUM is about the same as the 280AI. WN Fill your boots, man!
