I have used IMR 4064 for years. It was the first powder I ever used as a matter of fact in the first cartridge that I ever reloaded, and that was 30-06 with 165 gn bullets using a Lee loader. It is also my powder of choice for my 375 H&H with 300 gn loads. I don't load anything but 300 grainers in my H&H. I really like IMR 4350 in my 30-06 with 180 gn bullets. I will continue to use that combination. I also load 223 Rem and have had the best success in it with RL-15 when using heavy bullets. I am trying to streamline the inventory a bit and am considering using RL-15 in my 30-06 with 165's, 375 with 300's, and the 223 with 65-77's. How well does RL-15 work for you guys in the 30-06 and 375 H&H loads I have mentioned? Specifically Speed, Accuracy, Pressure compared to IMR 4064 in the applications I listed. Also if anyone thinks it is a viable replacement for my IMR 4350 loads with 180 grainers in 30-06? PA Bear Hunter, NRA Benefactor

I use RL-15 with a foam or Dacron filler in my Nitro Express cases, 450/400 3 inch, 404 Jeffery. I have loaded it in 475 #2 Jeffery and 500 NE 3 inch, both will foam or Dacron filler I use RL-15 in 223 Rem and 308 Win.for F class shooting. I also load it in 257 Roberts and 8X57JRS. I find in the Nitro loadings that the felt recoil is less than say IMR4831 or H4831. Accuracy for me is very good. Rusty We Band of Brothers! DRSS, NRA & SCI Life Member "I am rejoiced at my fate. You mention your .223.....just for the heck of it, try IMR-4064 in it. My best .223 accuracy load is 26.1 gr. of 4064 in a WW case, with a 55 gr. JSP. I'm as bad as the next guy for having every kind of powder under the sun in my loading room....but I have to admit I could probably cover all the bases with IMR-4064 and IMR-4350.....but then my objective has never been to wring the very last bit of velocity out of a cartridge. I tend to worry about the accuracy, and let the velocity worry about itself.

I( could live and conduct all my reloading with any one of the three for the rest of my life.. all are excellent across the board...

I use Reloader 15 in my .375 H$H with outstanding results, 300 grain TSX real fast and extremely accurate, I also use it in a 22/250 but haven't tried it in anything else. A 30/06 and 180 grain bullets are just meant to be loaded with IMR-4350!

Airgun, I use both Varget and RL-15 for most of my reloading. I routinely load for .308, .338-06 and 375 Ruger. I have had very good results with both these powders. I am sure I could also tailor a good load for the old 30-06 with either powder. For 180 gr loads, I usually reach for 4350 or 4831sc. I have tried 4064 in a number of applications and never had as much success as with Varget, Rl-15, IMR 4320 or IMR 4895! Good luck.

I started out using 4064 in 30-06 and for years heard that 4350 is THE powder. I got some 4350---4064 works much better in my 30-06. I also use 4064 in others and it is good stuff.
