Hey been shooting the 87gr V-maxs out of my 6/284. But I see 70 gr Sierra if I push them fast enough shoot flatter. Is my 1 in 10 twist too fast for those bullets? Also I use H4350 for the 87gr bullets. Its been recomended that I use IMR 4831 for the 70s . Why would a slower powder be best, for a lighter bullet.I thought you might want some thing a little faster?

Some things are best read and followed.....if the 4831 gives better velocity just accept it.....

The 1 in 10 twist is just fine for 70's.

My 6MM/284 has a 27.5" barrel with 1 in 9 1/8 twist. I haven't really shot it all the much todate. But it really likes the Sierra 85gr. HPBT with 51.0 gr. of H4831.
