I never did buy a copy of Quick Load. Until now I have never asked for anyone to check something for me. I promise to save aluminum cans and scrap iron (sell off some take-off barrels even) to pay for a copy over the winter. Here goes. Does Quick Load have anything on the 9.3 x 70 Expert Magnum (Expert is the company that makes brass in this size.). The 9.3 x 70 is simply the 404 Jeffery left nearly full length and necked down to 9.3mm. Does Quick Load help with starting loads with the 286-grain bullets, or even the 320-grain Woodleigh protected point/solid? I am guessing that H-1000 is on the fast end, Retumbo in the middle, the new RL-33 and Hodgdon's 869 or 50 BMG on the slow end. Yes, it is a trifle over bore, but not as bad as the .30-378 Weatherby or the 7mm RUM.Any help would be appreciated. Tom in Cody has had a rifle made up for the 375 Ruger shortened to 2.5" and necked down to 9.3mm. He correctly calls it the 9.3 x 64 Newton. that is a much more sensible cartridge, but I have always wanted a loader for my main gun, just like tanks have in the military.

Thank you Paul, That is extremely helpful. This puppy may not be quite as overbore as I thought. I will put water in one of my pieces of EXP brass, and also measure it from a reformed 404 case. Full speed ahead, for my friend, who bought the action, stock and some brass from me. L/D
