I just got around to loading some 300wsm rounds the other week and ran into a few snags with some of my not-yet-upgraded starter kit tools.

1- LEE Auto-Prime was too small to accomadate the fat case web but I Dremeled it out OK (gunsmiths please don't shiver, that tool will NEVER see any of my rifles). #5 holder worked perfectly though.

2- Powder funnel wouldn't fit over shoulder.

3- Deburring tool the same.

4- Loading block holes too small.

5- Ammo boxes the same

6- No case lenght gauge.

Do you guys know if these RCBS tools will work?

09087 Powder Funnel
09349 Deburring Tool
09453 Loading Block
86903 Ammo Box

I can get a Lee case lenght gauge for the .308 Win and add a shim for now.

The RCBS powder funnel will work but it could have a longer skirt on it.

My Foster deburring tool works fine.

Don't know about the loading block or boxes. You can make a loading block by drilling holes in a board and stapeling paperboard to the back of it.

I don't use a case gage anylonger. I use a dial caliper.

One thing I don't need is a feeler gage for insipiant head separations!

I made a reloading block for my 7mmWSM's using a block of oak and a
9/16's wood bit. you need to mark the bit so you drill the same depth
each time of course but it seems to work very well I made it so it holds
40 rounds per block. As the old saying goes Adapt and overcome....
Love this 7mmWSM..

RCBS Deburring tool will work fine.
Ammo-Boxes- any for the .45/70 will work fine, also those for the Remington Ultra Mags will work but are a bit too long.
Powder Funnel- a mutil head drop tube should have one that will fit the shorts(can't recall right now which one I have)

RCBS as well other tool makers should have anything you need for the Shorts Mags by now,I know RCBS and Dillion do.

I had to cut between 1/4 and 1/2 inch off the RCBS funnel to make it work, otherwise you dump 1/2 your powder on the case shoulder and it go's everwhere when you take the funnel off.I'd go with one of the multi nozzle types,Midway has one with 16 diferent tubes for $12-$14.The RCBS Loading Block works, use it for my RUM also. The deburring/chamfer tools other than the VLD chamfers are pretty much all the same.I just use MTM large rifle ammo boxs, put em in pointy end down.

1 - already fixed
2 - trimmed bottom of existing funnel - fixed
