6) 7mm 170 Cartarucio VLD (BC ~ .764) Holy buckets!! .764 BC!! It doesn't look that much different than the 139 Lapua. Do you know what BC is assigned to the Lapua?

Amazing ain't it!

I don't recall exactly the 139 Lapua, but it is an excellent bullet. I think it's the mid .6 range.

My Riflesmith thinks that bullet with the 7mm WSM is the next wave in LR marksmanship.

He also likes the M70 Classic in that round with the 3 groove Lilja and 29" barrel!

My arm is about twisted around thinking about that rifle, with a McMillan Prone Stock!

R-West,

Sinclair International lists the BC of the 6.5mm 139 Scenar at .615. In my limited experience with this bullet, actual drop is very close to calculated using this BC.

Best regards,

Bill

Can't verify this, but the address was reported on another site as follows:

Robert Cauterucio
482 Comerwood Ct.
S. San Francisco, CA 94080-4205
650-583-1550

I haven't dealt directly with the gentleman but have been buying bullets through my Riflesmith, who knows him.

We just shot Lapua's 6.5 123gr Scenar at 3500 fps out of the 6.5wsm a few days ago, the most consistant load was at 3414 fps and with a .574 BC check out the trajectory of that thing at 1000 yards compared to your favorite 140gr LR bullet!! We shot the 140 Breger VLD at 3200 fps and .63 BC it was lower by 1 moa at 200 yards, at 1000 yards it still don't beat the 123 at it's speed.

I would have thought we could have got 3300 safely from the 140 but not the Berger.

Those Cauterucios are suppose to shoot real well, not to mention the astronomical BC! Very impressive! [Smile]
