I'm new to reloading and have had success so far with working soft and solid loads up for my 450/400. Saw the Cutting Edge Safari Raptors and was intrigued by the concept. Bought some 320 gr raptors but haven't found any load data. Anyone have any luck with them or suggestions for where I should start? My No.1 likes 80 gr of RL19 for 400 gr A-frames | ||

Start with the starting loads for Barnes Banded Solids. Work up from there. | |||

I have used N530 in my .500. I like it but I now understand that R17 might be the best for my 500 and 577. Reportedly it has coating that take the sharp peak out of the pressure curve. ( I think I have that right.) N540 and N530 have a similar coating but I have been told that the coating on the R17 is more stable over time.) I am hoping that this info will also be helpful to you for your 450/400 Your CEB 320 gr. Raptor is an excellent killer. The tissue damage is impressive. I shoot 510 gr and 570 gr CEB solids in my .500 NE. R-17 was not the best powder for me at all...R-15 was. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ J. Yes, I checked my notes again. Reloder 15 might be better for the .500NE as Reloder 17 might be more suitable for the .577 NE IHMSA BC Provincial Champion and Perfect 40 Score, Unlimited Category, AAA Class. | |||

Tex, do the following In the QL diagram window (mine is on the bottom left side). Highlight the entire text or any potion you wish (text only, this doesn't work with graphics). Go to the top of the screen, left side and click on "copy to" and select "clip board" . Now if you are going to post that clipboard on a forum like this and just click paste it will come out all screwed up. Enter your paste info like this. On the keyboard select the square bracket left, it looks like this ([) . Then type in the word (code). Then select the square bracket right, it looks like this (]) Then hit the space bar a few times. Now type the square bracket left again ([). Type in a backwards slash (/) then the word (code) followed by another square bracket right (]). Then click paste between the right and left square brackets code] [/code . Notice I left out the other two square brackets for demo purposes. If I typed out the complete [code [/code sequence , the computer would treat it as a command. I copied this from another post years ago. | |||
