I just loaded some 165gr Barnes XBTs for my WinMag and wondered what sort of cleaning regimen I should be following. I don't have the manual, but got the numbers from one of those 1 cartridge per book things. I don't want to spend more time cleaning than needed. Gut instinct tells me a thorough copper cleaning after each 5-shot group is a start. This test will only be 4 sets of 5 groups. Thanks for any help. GFP.

The most important cleaning is the one before you start shooting. After that, I usually can go 30 to sometimes 50 rounds in a factory barrel without cleaning. The barrel will tell you if it needs cleaned. HTH, Dutch.

My advice would be to switch to the Triple Shocks. You will get much less fouling with them and better accuracy probably. I use Wipe-Out to clena my rifles. Just spray it in and patch it out an hour later. Repeat process till the patch comes out clean. I clean after every range session usually 30 shots or so. Accuracy with the triple shocks is still great after 30 shots without cleaning.
