I am looking at buying a Gracey trimmer without the motor. Any experience with these? Is there a size limitation on the motor? I know they usually come with a 1/15 hp motor, but would the 1/2 hp motor I have laying around doing nothing work OK?

The 1/2HP electric motor frame will be too high to adapt up to a Gracie case trimmer without spacing/shimming the case holder up to match c/l.

Purchase the whole unit mounted up,ready to trim cases w/ appropriate case holders.

Bob Jones has a 1pc replacement cutter that works well & is easier to adjust than the 2pc Gracie cutter.

Keep'em in the X ring,

A real big +1 for the Bob Jones carbide one piece cutter for the Gracey. Makes changing calibers "easy".
