FYI Here is some Wcc846 info

.308 rifle, inexpensive A&B heavey barrel, 110gr. FMJRN carbine bullet.RP. cases, CCI#34 primers,OAL=2.550" All loads were identical except for the powder charge which varied from 48.5gr. to 52.5gr.

48.5gr., Mild and sooty, 3035Fps. 3 shot 2" group at 100yds.

49.5 gr., Mild and sooty, 3055fps.3 shot 1"group at 100yds. hot barrel.

50gr., Mild and sooty, 3085 fps.3 shot .700" group at 100 yds. 3 shot 2" group at 300 yds.

50.5gr.Sooty primer just slightly starting to flatten.,3180fps. 3 shot 1" group at 100yds., 3shot 3" group at 300 yds.

51gr., 3200fps., 3 shot 1" group at 100 yds., 3 shot 2 1/2" group at 300 yds.

51.5gr., 3218fps., 3 shot 1" group at 100 yds.

52gr., Some soot and primer a little flat, 3280 fps., 3 shot 1 1/2" group at 100 yds.,3 shot 1 1/2" group at 300 yds.?,

52.5 gr., light soot and primer just a little flattened.,3295fps. 3 shot 3/4" group at 100 yds.,3 shot 1 1/2" group at 300 yds.

[/LIST]No real pressure signs observed. Data seems to co-oberate that Wcc846 is quite similar to BL-C 2. A pleasant surprise was the degree of accuracy obtained using carbine bullets and CCI #34 primers.

I found Wcc846 to be very accurate in my rem .223 also.

Those are good groups, especially the ones at 300 yards. Man, I'd be singing if I shot 300 yard groups like yours.. Kudos!!
Never tried any 846 as no one stocks it here.

All the Mil surp powder I've ever gotten had to be ordered direct from one or the other shooter's supply people.I believe Jeff Barttlet at GI Brass still may have some wcc846. It really is worth a try for the price. roger

A little side NOTE;

Evidenced in the combined caliber data on Wcc846 is that it is prudent to use magnum primers. The need is exasterbated with cases of large capacity and big bores. Some of the indications are the sooty necks, possibly caused by slow ignition and neck sealing, loud resonate KAABOOOOMS, Three to four foot long red orange muzzle blasts, , in large capacity big bores delayed ignition( click bangs) and very dirty rifles.

Indeed the use of magnum primers with ball powders is not a new discovery!

Wcc844 exhibits the same characteristics but to a somewhat lesser degree. Back to da-roger
