Removing glue from US Military bullets
I've got a bunch of US Military 5.56 bullets that have the black asphalt glue-like substance on them that I'd like to remove. Does anyone have any experience with this, and what sort of solvent should a person use. I've tried tumbling them in case-cleaning medium and that doesn't do anything to the glue. Any ideas are welcome.

always be careful with any chemicals .. gas and diesel as dangerous .. not as bad pure naptha

sea foam -- gas.. diesel .. any lighter than asphalt solvent will dissolve it

I have been a toolmaker/injection mold maker for nearly 25 years I bet I have used enough thinner to float a ship throughout the years washing parts and machine tables

It just flat works better than anything we have ever tried.....and we have tried it all
