Last year I picked up a Savage Striker in .260 Remington and braas at the time (may still be ?) was hard to find so I formed and loaded 50 ea. 7mm-08 cases to fireform to .260 but later sold the pistol without actually fireforming the brass. I'm going to pull the bullets and save them and the powder but was wondering if I run the cases back through a 7mm-08 FL die am I back to where I started or do I just need to toss the cases ? Thanks......Ike

IKE- They'll be fine. Just be sure and check the length after you neck them back up (that should not be an issue, either), and all should be well. Bobby Μολὼν λαβέ The most important thing in life is not what we do but how and why we do it. - Nana Mouskouri

Thank you Bobby, with brass being the way it is now (both hard to find & expensive) I was sure hoping I didn't have to toss it...plus the fact I just got a new wood and blue Savage Classic 14 rifle chambered in 7-08 that I could use the brass for to get my pet loads worked up. Thanks again and I hope that you, mama and the boys have a good holiday season. Ike

IKE- You are right...brass has gotten outrageous, as have bullets and everything else. A few years ago, before the .260 was legitimized by Remington, I had quite a few 6.5x.308 loads in IMI Match .308 brass that had been necked down. After I sold that particular XP, I pulled the bullets, saved the powder and necked them back up to use in the .308 I had then. Some were new, some were fired a time or two, but they all did just fine for me. Here's hoping that you and your family will also have a wonderful holiday season -- and hoping that you get to do some shooting or hunting in as well.
