Does anyone out there have a Barnes manual handy if you do, could you let me know what the max load is with a H-4831 using there 180gr bullet. Thanks, I would buy one but the so called gunshop here in Sierra Vista really sucks! They don't have any manuals.

John

323, you should just buy the manual from Barnes if you are going to load their bullets. You can purchase one directly from Barnes if you like or I believe some of the reloading suppliers probably have them. Here is a link to get it if you want. http://www.barnesbullets.com/products.php

Actually you should acquire several manuals and cross reference them, as mistakes rarely happen in several places at the same time. I acquired the Branes most current manual at it's release at an SCI convention, and upon proof reading it was astounded at the number of obvious errors as to technical matters. To wit: see the .308 Win case dimensions and then look at the .300 WSM's. They would appear identical to me! My .308 has shot harder ever since. Now I should have gotten up off my old arse to check and see that these were indeed the two culprits, but I am sure that do dillegence will help when reloading.

The main reason I needed to know what the Barnes manual said is because my dad started loading some Barnes X bullets and I told him he needed to be careful and not use data he would normaly use for regular sierras etc. Again this was for a 308 Norma Mag not a 308 winchester. For the people who PM thanks again.
