My truck gun is a .243 I carry it for coyotes(not my go to rifle for deer) but sometimes I have to use it on deer as it is all I have with me. So what are your best loads for deer, not theory but actual field experience. Thanks

Remington 100 gr CoreLokt in factory ammo and handloads work fine. These days I handload 100 gr Nosler Partitions over IMR4350.

Your truck wouldn't haul the whitetail that I have taken or seen taken with the 95 or 100 gr. partition. 33 gr. of IMR3031 has been an accurate though mild load in several rifles. If you want more velocity 4350 works good but the deer will never know it.

I guess I'm the odd man out. One of my 243's likes the 85 grain Partition with 42 grains of IMR4064 for whitetail and antelope. The other one hasn't shot a big game bullet out of it that I know of (all varmint bullets).
