I had the exact same problem in two S+W 357 Mags while using the CCIs. Once I changed back to Winchester, problem solved. The CCIs are too hard for me.

The Federal primers are even softer but, you may get holes in the primers from time to time.

Good Luck!

I've got a Dan Wesson 15-2 357 and have a lot of misfires. I am using CCI 550 primers. Before I get a new main spring I would like to try some primers with a softer cup. Which small pistol primers should I try? Is there one brand that is softest? Thanks.

Try Federal #100 small pistol primers.
