Does any one have any loads for a 300 Jarrett useing 150, 165, and 180 Accubonds, Ballistic Tip, or Combine Technology. My gun is a Remington 700 with a Krieger 26" barrel. Thank for any help you may provide.

The 300 Jarrett is very close capacity wise to the 300 Wby. The Jarrett does not have the free bore the Wby does so max charges will not be quite as high as the Wby max. Reduce 300 Wby start loads by about 2 grs and work up carefully watching for signs of excess pressure.

Try Fed 215 primers,7828 and your choice of 180 gr bullet. Max will be in the 82 to 83 grs so start approx 78 grs and work up carefully.

Hey 535,

I had Jarrett make me one up on a 700 action many years ago...and I loved it.
My best loads from my records are as follows:
180 grain Ballistic Tip (don't see why Accubond data would not work here) was 81-84 grains of RL-22, with my best accuracy at 84.0 grains. Also tried 90.0 grains of RL-25 (good, but not as good as RL-22 load), 94.0 grains of H-1000 and was my 2nd most accurate load, next to RL-22 and 81-83 grains of 7828.

165 grain loads it liked were 84-86 grains of RL-22 (it liked 84.5 grains best) and 90.0 grains of RL-25.

One thing I have noticed about 300 mags, and the Jarrett is no exception: for some reason your rifle will either like 180's OR 165's and 200's...either/or...don't usually find a rifle that likes all three weights.

I blew out my brass with 30.0 grains of Bullseye and a half square of toilet paper tamped firmly on top. Saves wear and tear on the barrel...saves bullets too.

All in all, my go to load in this rifle was 84.0 grains of RL-22 behind a 180 grain bullet. All loads mentioned had 215M primers.

FYI: If you are NASCAR fan The late great Dale Erndhart had a Jarrett 300...his accuracy loads in his personal rifle were: 79.0 grains of 4350 with a 150 grain ballistic tip, and with a 200 grain ballistic tip: 77.0 grains of H-4831 OR 75.5 grains of 7828. Saw the loading data with my own eyes..not word of mouth.

Had mine rechambered to 300 RUM.....stupid, stupid, stupid.......well, next time to rebarrel, it will be 300 Jarrett or 300 Win Mag.

Thank you for the info, it really helps. I think my biggest plomlem is OAL. I used a Rem. 700 action, so i have to load my ammo really short. I guess I will load them about .010 off the lands and shot as a single shot.
