Does anyone know if the Barnes XLC 308 caliber is a lead core bullet or all copper? I live in liberal California and starting in 2018-2019 year we have to use all copper bullets in all area's. This is just the way it is. All comments are greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time.

Here is the list of Barnes products approved by the State of california as "lead free". I don't see the XLC listed.
https://nrm.dfg.ca.gov/FileHan...umentID=82803&inlineI've been using the Barnes TSX and TTSX bullets for decades now.

CrazyhorseconsultingIf you will look down the list, it appears that Barnes has discontinued making the XLC.
Having used 225 grain XLC's in my .35 Whelen and 235 grain XLC's in my .375 H&H, they are solid copper with a blue coating.

The SenatorThank you fellows, I appreciate it. I bought 2 Box's of the XLC at a gun show hoping they would be copper. They were discontinued a long time ago, that's why their not on the new approve list of the liberal left here. I going to load them and if they shoot, that's what I will use, copper is copper to me. Thanks again and keep your powder dry.
Do any of you guys have a load for 30-06 180 grain XlC, I do not have a old Barnes reloading book. Thanks again for your time.

Thank you for the list, the bullet is on there but not made anymore by Barnes.
If you know of a load for this bullet 180 grain, 30-06 I would appreciate it. I do not have a old Barnes reloading book.

analog_peninsulaFrom Barnes #1:
180 grain copper bullets, 26" bbl
IMR 4831 53 thru 57
H4831 57 thru 61
IMR 4350 51 thru 55
RL19 54 thru 59
H414/W760 50 thru 54
All max velocities are a bit above 2800 fps. Barnes #1 had a reputation of being optimistic about pressure, so you may want to start low and quit when you hit 2800 fps, or when you find pressure signs.

Are there maybe some 85-grain 6mm XLCs on someone's shelf, waiting for a new home? They shoot nicely in my 6mms...

There are a couple but they are outnumbered by the Democrats 2:1. The Bakersfield/Kern County area of California does not elected Democrats to State office

Brains are strictly forbidden by law in the PRK.
Hey, I was born in UCLA hospital, so I can make Kalifornia jokes. I can tell a Hare Krishna from a Sannyasin at 100 yards in poor light.

About 85 or so have been deemed mentally challenged or criminally insane.

desert dogFor your 30 caliber, the 168gr TTSX will slay pigs, deer, and black bears in California with ease. If you do not reload, Barnes Vortx ammunition comes with this bullet in 308.
