I have a RCBS rockchucker and need the RCBS shell holder for my 450/400 NE. Both gun shops I called say they cannot find on RCBS' chart, a listing for the 450/400 and they cannot order me a shell holder without the number. What shell holder # are people using? I used the Hornady #25 (works in RCBS presses too) that I use for my 500 Linebaugh which is based upon the 348 Win. Don't know the RCBS number but look for the 348 Win one and you should be good to go.

Boxhead, I have this on the double rifle post too and am hearing Hornady #25 from them as well. I just posted that Hornady states that is for the 348 winchester - correlates to RCBS #5 -348 winchester. Guessing that would work just as well. Thanks for the verification. The .348 shellholder will work, but there's a lot of slop because of the much thinner rim of the .450 case. RCBS does make a .450 (same as .450/.400) shellholder, but it's a special item. Mine is marked ".450 NE" and the shellholder is larger in outside diameter than the regular series of RCBS shellholders. Same goes for the .500 NE and .577, or even 20 and 12 gauge RCBS shellholders. They may not be cataloged, but call Huntington's or RCBS directly and they will happily ship one out to you, for the right price, of course... Addendum: Sorry, I was thinking 450/400 3-1/4". If you are talking about the 450/400 3" Jeffery case the .348 shellholder should work fine.
