Has anyone had an experience with this?? Such as forming brass, type bullets, types of powder, have not been able to locate anything on this in any of the loading manuals I have. Thanks for listening or should I say reading.

The 6mmx.225 requires no forming. Simply neck up the brass and you are ready to load. The 6mm JDJ is the EXACT same thing as the 6mmx.225. The 6mm JDJ #2 is an improved version and the one Contender shooters are familiar with. Re-15 is a terrific powder to begin with. And Midwayusa.com has .225 Win brass on clearance at the moment. As to bullets, get a 1:10, stick to the 75-80 grainers and never look back. You can expect around 2600 fps from a 14" barrel using 80 grain bullets or perhaps 2850 fps from a 22" tube. The IMP version will only give you perhaps another 75 fps but, due to the case design, makes it a feasible option for the Contender format, where the cartridge makes for a light deer round or a nice varmint puncher. The 6mm JDJ was originally supposed to be the "improved" version, but a mixup on a reamer order for SSK Industries is why we have both the 6mm JDJ and 6mm JDJ #2. It does create a little confusion as some of JD's proprietary rounds using the #2 designation were actually based on an improved .307 WCF case. Anyway, while an interesting round, it doesn't really offer anything more than the 6mm.-223 does, particularly in the Contender format, where cases with the head size of .223 brass can be run full-throttle while the larger .225 brass must be kept around the 40,000 c.u.p. range. Bobby thanks for the information. I have a high wall that is 6mm X 225, that I just porchased, and it did not have any info with it. It had dies and about 500 pieces of 225 brass. Is there a difference in the chambers from 6mm x 225 and the 6mm JDJ ?

If cut correctly by the gunsmith, there will be no difference between a 6mmx225 and a 6mm JDJ chamber. Both will retain original .225 Win body dimensions with only the necks now being enlarged to accept 6mm projectiles.
