223 on the RCBS Piggyback II

I suspect most of you guys use Dillon presses if you load progressive, but I started with RCBS well over 20 years ago and decided to stay with them. So when it came time to move to progressive, I bought the Piggyback II because it auto-indexes.

All that to say this: if you decide to load 223 on this press, I would advise getting the 17/20-caliber drop tube for your Uniflow. Even using the smaller drop tube of the two that are supplied with the powder measure would allow powder to slip by the mouth of the cases, and that locked up the shell plate. I called RCBS, got the one for the 17 and 20-caliber cases and that solved the problem. I have used both W748 and Ramshot TAC since, and not a bit of powder misses the mouth of the little 22-caliber "hull".

Just thought this might be of help...

Thanks for the information.

I was thinking about the Piggyback. How much does it cost? How long did it take you to get it up and running?
