I live in Austin. The only thing I'm loading for right now is a 338-06 Improved. I use it for deer and hope to hunt elk next year. I'm getting ready to build a 458 Lott on a mauser I reworked back when I worked for a gunsmithy in Arizona. I'd like to get together with some shooters/handloaders/riflebuilders here in the Austin area. Give me an e-mail if anyone wants to go to the range.

My name is August Crocker. I have been here about 18 yrs and am in the ARC, Capitol City Trap and Skeet, Llano Claybusters and serve on the board of one of the oldest and greatest hunting clubs (Austin Woods and Waters Club)in the US. I have competed in various shotgun sports for many years and about two yrs ago got hit by the rifle bug BAD. Now I play with precision reloading and have kinda put my shotgun sports on a middle burner. I think I enjoy stock work and restoration work the most. If you ever have a question about any of the clubs in and around Austin or San Antonio give me a holler.

I moved to Austin about a year ago and haven't been shooting that much in the area. Sounds like I need to find out more about the Austin rifle club. In general, I tinker with rifles and reloading. Also got the Mauser building bug a couple of years back so there is usally a project in the works.
