I have been using imr 4350 for years behind 200gr Nosler ballistic tips. Bullet stays the same just looking for other powder options. Thanks, Optik1

I would recommend Norma MRP powder.
I have found it to be very consistent and accurate.
I could not find another powder that gave higher velocity.I believe it is what NORMA/WEATHERBY use in
their .340 Weatherby factory loads.

Reloader 22. I’ve always been able to duplicate Weatherby factory specs with it. i.e. the 250 gr Partition at ~2,950 fps and I get good brass life with the load I use.

Reloader 23 is also worth a look.

hello back to you.

it was not the sc but the plain jane h4831 and 80-82 grains ...worked great with core lokt ultra, swift a frame and 230 grains fail safe.

col for the cl 225 grains was is 3.694 and i used 375hh federal cases.

primer were the 215 federal.

what is working and being safe in my rifle may not in yours.

that load worked great on bison and very accurate.

I have shot the .340 Wby since 1997 when I was preparing for a Alaska Yukon Moose Hunt in the Farewell Burn of Alaska. My go to load is 87 grains of RL-19 and Fed 215M primer behind a 240 grain Northfork bullet. It crony’s at 2919 fps and does a fantastic job when it get there. A 250 grain Nosler Partition with same powder and primer is a fraction slower and just as good and got me my Moose. Good Shooting.

I need to make a correction, I stated the speed of the .340 Wby 240 gr. Northfork load was 2919 fps. The speed was actually 3017 fps for that load after I checked my tables and targets instead of going from memory. The 250 gr Nosler Partition was some less. Good Shooting.

Back in '98 I used 82gr H4350 behind the older Barnes 210 xbt. It was humming, close to 3200!
