Has anyone worked with Vihtavuori N165 in the 300 Weatherby, please? Any loads or comments will be appreciated. Montero

Montero, I've checked with Quickload 3.2 and the N165 seems to be a good choice, since you can achieve 92-96% of load density. Anyway, the software shows that N560 can give you 25-30 m/s more velocity, with roughly the same loads. Hope this helps.

Agree with wildboar. Load .300 Weatherby for a friend. We found VV N-560 to be pretty good, especially with 165 grain bullets. Cheers, Number 10

Thank you, gentlemen. I had gone through QuickLoad but it seems to me that N165 is not particularly favoured by its calculations, as it is not possible to reach factory velocities without exceeding normal pressures. I was wondering if anyone had worked with it. On the other hand, I also believe that N560 might give better velocities, at least with 165 and 180 gr bullets, the problem is that it is not available here. Thanks again. Montero

i checked noslers #5 reloaders manual, they use vitavoys n-165 in 125 grain ballistic tips,in fact it was their most accurate powder tested with that bullet.1-10 twist 26 inch lilja barrel remington case federal 215 mag primer, oddly they nosler used vitavoy n-160 for their 150 155,165,168,skipped it all 2 gether in the 180'sbut came back to vitavoy 165 for their 200 grain partitions and their 220 grain partitions, hope this helps you ,regards jjmp

Unfortunately, I do not have Nosler's book... For my reference, can you please post here their 160 maximum load with 165 and 180 grain bullets and their 165 maximum load with 200 and 220, please? Thank you, Montero
